A medieval or post medieval copper-alloy flat, openwork mount dating to the period c. AD 1450 - 1550. The mount resembles a four-petalled flower, possibly a rose with a fleur-de-lis between each petal. Engraved and moulded linear decoration outlines the openwork design which is unfettled. In the centre is an eight-petalled flower formed from circular pits bordering a central circular hole which is possibly a rivet-hole.
Diameter: 31.39 mm, thickness: 1.75 mm, weight: 6.8 g. In good condition with an even green/brown patina.
