A Medieval lead alloy seal matrix c. AD 1200-1400 date The matrix has a circular shaped die and a conical, non faceted, shaped handle with the rounded shaped hoop at the apex. There is a hole in the loop for suspension. The die is decorated with an armorial device that consists of a "heater" or shield shape with a chevron in the center. The design is surrounded by a legend, only partially legible. It appears to read: S'hENRCI . W[...] (D)S.
The seal matrix is 21.4mm in diameter, 23.1mm high and weighs 27.1 grams.
