A Post Medieval copper alloy buckle of c. AD1550-1650 date. The buckle has a double loop oval frame with moulded floral decoration on the loops. There is a rounded knop on either side of the strap bar. The reverse of the buckle is undecorated.
The buckle is 52.1mm long, 34.6mm wide, 3.8mm thick and weighs 11.82 grams.
A very similar example can be seen in Whitehead (1996) page 61 ref 362.
