A collection of 26 flint working fragments known as ‘debitage’, weighing a total of 497g. All of the fragments date roughly from c.2500-600 BC and are therefore largely Bronze Age in date, a slightly earlier/later date can not be ruled out, since these fragments are only debitage and not finished tools. Four of the largest fragments of flint have had a number of flakes removed from their surface. They remain however as fairly undiagnostic fragments. 13 of the fragments are simply undiagnostic flakes of varying size and shape. One of these flakes also happens to be fire cracked. One small, broken blade flake is represented in this assemblage, weighing just 0.58g. There is also a small, unfinished burin (weighing 9.81g). The burin retains 50% of the natural cortex (one surface of the flint is almost entirely covered in cortex); the other surface has ripples extending down from under the point of the burin. Seven of the flakes, are slightly more diagnostic. They are also waste flakes but all of these flakes have either a bulb of percussion or ripples extending down from where the bulb of percussion would once have been. All of these flakes have had previous flakes removed from their surface. However, they too are simply waste flake fragments and are not finished tools.
