A complete lead token of post medieval date (AD 1550-1850). The object is circular in plan and slightly bent in section. On the obverse of the object is a raised motif in the shape of an anchor. There is a raised pellet in the centre of the anchor. The reverse of the object has a raised geometric pattern. It is divided in half by a raised line and each half has at least two outward facing circular arcs which decrease in size toward the outer rim of the object.
Lead tokens had a wide variety of potential uses such as tallies, gaming pieces, tickets, weights, etc. and are believed to have been locally produced; they are therefore difficult to date precisely.
