A complete copper alloy single looped trapezoidal buckle frame and pin, of Medieval dating (AD 1250 to AD 1400).

Both the buckle frame and pin are present. The buckle frame is trapezoidal in shape, with an expanded triangular outer edge, with a U shaped pin rest. The strap bar is narrowed and recessed. Spherical knops are present on either end of the strap bar. The reverse is undecorated. The pin has been made from a triangular piece of sheet copper alloy metal, wrapped around the axis bar. The pin has a blunt point.

The buckle frame measures 13.4 mm in length, 15.9 mm wide and 2.8 mm thick. The pin measures 11.8 mm in length, 2.4 mm wide and 1.1 mm thick. All together, both the buckle frame and the pin weigh 1.3 g.

The buckle frame and pin are a dark green to brown colour, with an even surface patina. Abrasion, caused by movement whilst within the plough soil, has resulted in the loss of some of the original surface detail.
