A medieval silver coin: a halfpenny of Edward III (AD 1327 - 1377), Florin coinage, Withers Type 7 dating from AD 1344 - 1351. Mint of London. The edge of the coin is missing between 7 and 10 o'clock on the obverse. See Halfpennies and Farthings of Edward III and Richard II by P and B Withers, page 26, type 7 and North Volume 2 (1991) page 48, number 1131. The coin is 15.3mm diameter, 0.5mm thick and 0.58g. The second D in EDWARDVS looks more like an O.
