A lead alloy artefact, probably an inkwell of post-Medieval date, AD 1500 - 1700 or later. It is an open vessel with thick walls and a circular base (which is not flat) and a sub-rectangular top. The rim is out-turned and curves down to form a hood. The object is 36.7mm long, 32.9mm wide and 27.9mm high. It weighs 102.75gm. Compare LEIC-C793A9. The object can also be compared to bird feeders, but these are more usually D shaped.
