A flint thumbnail scraper probably dating from the Late Neolithic or Early Bronze Age period, about 2400 BC - 2200 BC. It is formed on a secodary flake of translucent dark brown flint with cortex on the dorsal face. The flake is semi-circular in plan and D shaped in cross section. The proximal end is well patinated, as is the unworked part of the dorsal face, so it is possible the flint was re-used to form the thumbnail scraper. The sides and distal end have invasive, sub-parallel, semi-abrupt retouch. The scraper is 18.5mm long, 23.3mm wide and 12mm thick. 5.42g.
