Medieval to Post Medieval (mid 14th to mid 17th century) annular buckle frame: The copper alloy frame has a narrowed, semi-circular strap bar bisecting the frame. The frame is D shaped in section. The pin and a plate with waisted sides remain. It measures 20.4mm in diameter, 4.1mm thick and weighs 5.72 grams.
Whitehead (1996) illustrates similar buckles, Nos. 254-259, and dates them to the mid 14th to mid 17th century.
