A copper alloy Medieval mount of c. AD 1350-1400 date. The mount is rectangular in plan and cross section. There are two circular perforations in the centre of the mount surrounded by border of two concentric rectangular grooves. There is a rivet hole in each corner, all of which still contain cylindrical rivets. A very similar example can be seen in Egan (1996) page 196 ref 1049.
The mount is 34.2mm long, 19.2mm wide, 1.7mm thick and weighs 5.83 grams.
