An incomplete copper alloy Anglo-Saxon buckle frame dating to the Early Medieval period AD c. 450 - 600, Marzinzik Type 1.5, (2003, 306). The frame is 'D'-shaped with a narrowed, vertical offset strap bar. The front of the frame is convex and the interior circumference of the frame is bevelled. The reverse of the frame is flat and undecorated and the overall buckle is incomplete as the pin and plate are missing. The frame measures 21.8 mm in length, 14.4 mm wide, 3.3 mm thick and weighs 3.37 g. A number of comparable objects are recorded on the database as IOW-0DB8F0, KENT-D1F854 and SF-777447.
