A fragment of Crambeck grey ware vessel of Roman date. The fragment is a base sherd from a dish or bowl. The fabric is a pale grey colour with a hard and fine texture incorporating abundant fine quartz sand inclusions.
The sherd is 72.3mm long, 54.7mm wide, 11.5mm thick and weighs 58.7g.
Crambeck wares were produced at the site of Crambeck in North Yorkshire from the early 4th century and continued until end of Roman period with the grey ware being the most abundant type.
