A rim sherd of a probably Roman ceramic vessel dating from AD 43 - 410. The fabric is hard, smooth and has an irregular to fine texture. It is light grey in the core with orange surfaces. It has sparse, well sorted grit, shell and dark red inclusions. Ther sherd is from the vertical rim of an open vessel. The rim has a rounded top, and then a vertical collar before stepping inwards. The rim diameter is about 300mm. The sherd is 28.3mm tall, 29.5mm wide and 6.7mm thick. 8.4g.
