A group of nine sherds of Medieval ceramic vessel dating from about AD 1100 - 1500. They are all wall sherds, some with fragments of base or shoulder, but not enough to identify the form of vessel. They are a mixture of fabrics as follows:

1. Wall sherd. Hard, gritty fabric with a fine to laminated texture. Pale pink to buff coloured throughout. Frequent, poorly sorted red and dark grey inclusions with larger pieces of quartz. Small area of clear glaze surviving on the outer face. 57.7mm tall, 53.1mm wide and 7mm thick. 24.3g.

2. Rim sherd. Hard, gritty fabric with an irregular texture. Pale pink to buff coloured throughout, darker red on the surface. Frequent, poorly sorted red and dark grey inclusions with larger pieces of quartz. Small area of clear glaze surviving on the inner face. 22mm tall, 24.9mm wide and 10.4mm thick. 5.34g.

3. Wall sherd. Hard, gritty fabric with an irregular to laminated texture. Dark grey on inner face, fading to white on the outer face. Frequent, poorly sorted red and dark grey and quartz inclusions. Unglazed. 43.7mm tall, 32.6mm wide, 9.6mm thick. 15.01g.

4. Wall sherd. Hard, gritty fabric with an irregular texture. White on inner face, fading through buff to grey on the outer face. Frequent, poorly sorted red and dark grey and quartz inclusions. Unglazed. 23.7mm tall, 33.8mm wide and 5.6mm thick. 5.17g.

5. Wall and base sherd. Hard, smooth fabric with an irregular texture. Cream coloured throughout. Frequent, well sorted dark grey and quartz inclusions. Small area of clear glaze on the outer face and base. 24.9mm tall, 41mm wide and 8.3mm thick. 10.91g.

6. Wall sherd. Hard, smooth fabric with a fine texture. Cream coloured surfaces with a light grey core. Frequent, poorly sorted dark grey and quartz inclusions. Clear glaze on the outer face. 28mm tall, 18.7mm wide and 6.8mm thick. 3.72g.

7. Rim sherd. Hard, pimply, gritty fabric with an irregular texture. Mid grey coloured, fading to yellow grey on the outer face. Frequent, poorly sorted dark grey, black and quartz inclusions. Splash of clear glaze on the rim. 13.7mm tall, 32.5mm wide and 6.7mm thick. 3.34g.

8. Wall sherd. Hard, rough fabric with an irregular texture. Mid grey coloured thoughout. Frequent, well sorted small dark grey and quartz inclusions. Dark yellow green glaze on outer face. 23.2mm tall, 22.1mm wide and 5.7mm thick. 3.9g.

9. Wall sherd. Hard, smooth fabric with an irregular texture. Cream coloured thoughout. Fairly frequent, well sorted dark grey and quartz inclusions. Dark yellow glaze on outer face and splashes of clear glaze on inside. 47.6mm tall, 43.6mm wide and 7.7mm thick. 13.32g.
