A silver coin of unknown ruler, probably Post-Medieval in date. The coin has been rubbed worn on each face. One face is stamped with N star M and another M stamped below at an angle. Below the stamped N is an engraved letter D facing downwards from the base of the N.
The opposite face is engraved with the letters WS.
The deliberate smoothing of the coin and stamps indicate it may have been reused as a love token. Coins of William III were commonly converted into love tokens and this example is roughly the right size and weight for a shilling of William III though no detail remains to confirm this attribution.
Dimensions: 23.90mm in diameter, 2.7g
Evidence of reuse: The deliberate smoothing of the coin and stamps indicate it may have been reused as a love token.
