An incomplete cast copper-alloy hooked tag of Post-Medieval date. It has a flat back with circular openwork plate and integrally cast rectangular suspension loop at the top of the plate. The openwork decoration comprises an equal armed cross with a pellet at its centre contained within a circular border. The exterior edges of the plate have beaded decoration. The integral hook is missing due to old breaks. The entire object measures 21.92mm in length, 16.79mm in width, 1.57mm in thickness and 2.01g in weight.
This hooked tag belongs to Read's Class E Type 3 Post-Medieval hooked tags and draws a very close parallel to his no. 370 (Read, 2008: p. 99, no. 370). This indicates a date in the 16th-17th centuriesAD for the current example.
