Copper alloy probable buckle. Rectangular loop with straight long edges and slightly curved upper and lower edges, as if the form were abstracted from a longer oval frame. Both faces are neatly bevelled towards he edges, but the display face in particular retains overall traces of diagonal filing - the same appears on the back but there diminished by wear. The narrowest straight side might have formerly retained a pin, but there is scant trace of its use and no trace of a pin rest. Suggested date: Medieval, 1300-1500.
