A Medieval silver coin; a penny probably of Edward IV, first reign (AD 1461 - 1470), heavy coinage (AD 1461 - 1465), Class IV dating from AD 1461 - 1464. Mint of Durham, local dies. See North Volume 2 (1991) number 1544 on page 84. The coin is 16.6mm diameter, 0.8mm thick and 0.8g. It is slightly bent and one half is very worn.
