A fragment probably of Roman coarseware, wheel-turned, from the evidence of the four shallow, horizontal grooves on the internal face. The exterior is hard, a dull grey on both faces. The fabric is partly reduced, dull grey, with some voids, mica, grit and some pebble inclusions. fractues are fine. It is dated to between c43 and c410 AD and is lightly abraded.
The length is 25 mm, width 21 mm, thickness 4 mm and the weight, 1.68 g.
