A fragment of gold jewellery possibly a necklace element dating to the Roman period. The fragment comprises a rectangular-section strip of gold wire which has been looped and bent to form an openwork motif, possibly a flower. This motif possesses four central circular loops and was possibly originally surrounded by four outer loops representing petals. Two fragments of circular-section gold wire are looped through the underside of the openwork element and secured by wrapping the wire around itself. The fragment has a length of 12mm, a width of 9mm and a weight of 0.46grams.
