A silver Elizabethan penny from Elizabeth I (AD1533-1603), dating from AD1560-1561. 2nd issue. Martlet initial mark.
Obverse side shows the bust of Elizabeth facing left. The inscription is partly worn but reads [ROSA SINE] SPINA. The reverse side shows the English crest. The inscription is also worn but would have read [CIVI / TAS] LON / DON.
The coin is 14mm diameter. 0.46 grams
