Two lead alloy musket balls of Post Medieval date, about AD 1600 - 1800.
1. Spherical ball with casting seam smoothed and casting sprue removed, probably with a single cut from nippers. At 15.9mm diameter and 22.26g, this ball was probably for use in a Carbine. It has a cream yellow patina.
2. sub-spherical ball with the two halves of the mould mis-aligned. Casting sprue trimmed with a knife. At 11.7mm diameter and 10.03g, this was probably for use in a pistol. It has a dark grey patina.
