A cast lead alloy spindle whorl probably dating from the Medieval period, AD 1200 - 1600. It is biconvex with a central circular perforation of 8.5mm diameter. One side is decorated with six oblique radiating lines, creating six trapezoidal panels with two to six pellets in each panel. The design on the other side is somewhat abraded but the visible portion suggests that it is identical. The whorl has a light grey patina. It is 27.3mm in diameter and 12.7mm thick. It weighs 38.56gm.
