A sheet copper alloy strap end, possibly of Middle Saxon date. The item is formed from a single rectangular sheet of copper alloy folded over and riveted together at the attachment end with an iron rivet. The surface of the strap end is undecorated.
A parallel comes from the Middle Saxon productive site at South Newbald (Leahy 2000: 57, fig. 6.3, no. 13), but this type of strap-end continued in use into the medieval period.
