An early Medieval silver coin; a cut halfpenny of Edward the Confessor (1042 - 1066), Pacx type with short cross reverse (1042-44; North 814). Mint: probably York; moneyer: probably Unolf.

The coin is 17.5mm long, 8.3mm wide and 0.5mm thick. 0.41g. The short cross reverse is not illustrated in North, but examples can be seen on these websites:
