Medieval copper-alloy clasp, dating from 1250 to 1400 AD.Length 22mm, width 17mm,thickness 5mm. weight 3.13g. The incomplete frame is sub-trapezoidal and missing its strap bar. It has a central raised chevron shaped rib running across it and its surface is decorated with a series of incised lines running up to thi from the interior of the frame and then outwards towards the edges. The broken edge has a semi-circular indent, suggesting it had circular holes representing eyes. These clasps are known as kings head types and this one is similar to LIN-34897AA.
