A worn and possibly clipped Medieval silver penny of Edward III (1327-1377), minted at York. Probably Pre-Treaty Period, 1351-1361 (North 1991: 48-54).

Obverse: EDWA[ ]EX (double saltire stop) AnGLI]; Crowned bust facing with a bifoliate crown

Reverse: (saltire stop) CIVI/TAS/EB[ ]/[ ]ACI; Long cross dividing the inscription with three pellets in each quadrant, quatrefoil at centre of cross

Diameter: 17.7mm. Weight: 0.92g. DA=12:11.
