A lead alloy Medieval spindle whorl dating from about AD 1200 - 1600. It is biconvex with a circular central aperture of 9.3mm diameter with two cavities in the internal side wall. One face is decorated with five oblique radiating lines with two, three or four raised pellets in each space. There are also some shorter and fainter raised lines in the larger spaces. The opposite face has a similar design, but the radiating ribs are less oblique. The whorl has a cream coloured patina. It is 26.2mm diameter, 10mm thick and weighs 34.52g.
