An incomplete copper alloy stirrup strap mount of Early-Medieval date. The mount is Williams Class A, Type 12, dating to the period AD 1000 - 1100, and being openwork in design. Only a small portion of the object survives consisting of the openwork plate, displaying six perforations and two rounded boss at the surviving edge.
The metal has a mid-reddish-brown patina and is worn. The mount is 22.3mm long, 18.6mm wide, 3.7mm thick and weighs 2.6g.
A similar example can be seen in Williams (1997), p.76, fig.48, no.337.
