A basesherd of a wheel thrown ceramic vessel, of Medieval dating (AD 1200 to AD 1400).
The basesherd consists of a local (unsourced) unglazed earthenware, with frequent fine quartz and grit inclusions, dating from the 11th to 15th Centuries AD, probably from an open bowl or jug vessel. No enough survives of the base to estimate the original diameter.
The sherd is 7.3 mm thick and weighs 16.4 g. It has a length of 36.2 mm and is 35.5 mm wide.
