Copper alloy strap fitting. Small cast rectangular frame at the end of a narrow pointed plate of plano-convex section. The pointed end bears a pair of shallow pits and two or three diagonal grooves, all very worn but still reminiscent of the zoomorphic decoration of Middle Saxon ends of Thomas Class A. Lacking provision for attachment or for the operation of a pin, this is probably distinct from those medieval buckles cast with an integral plate. Suggested date: Early Medieval, 750-850.
