Incomplete copper-alloy casket key of probable late 12th to early 14th C. AD date (see ref.). The bow is damaged, with approximately two thirds missing. It is oval in section and, originally, would have measured approximately 12mm high by 11mm wide. A moulded collar separates the bow from the stem. The stem is sub-circular in section, hollow, and measures 19.9mm long by 4.7mm high and 3.1mm wide. The bit has a single ward and cleft and a horizontal channel at the top. Overall, the object measures 32mm long and weighs 3.18g.
