A cast copper alloy annular ring of rounded hexagonal section, probably a harness fitting dating from the Medieval or Post Medieval period, AD 1100 - 1700. The ring has a dark grey patina. One side is more worn. It is 26.3mm diameter, 2.9mm thick and 4.3gm. These are common detector finds, but their function and dating are not well understood (Finds Recording Guide, Geake). Similar harness fittings can be found on the database; compare for example SWYOR-A5DF60, KENT-FC75D6 and BERK-D0D467.
