An incomplete copper-alloy mount of Medieval date. It is flat, rectangular in form, and missing one end due to old breaks. At the centre of hte plate is a single circular aperture, with a small circular rivet hole at the centre of the complete end. The front face of the mount has the remains of incised decoration. This comprises square panels to either side of the central aperture that have incised borders and contain single large incised lozenge shaped motifs, each lozenge divided into four equal sized smaller lozenges. The entire object measures 28.09mm in length (incomplete), 15.16mm in width, 1.42mm in thickness, and 1.82g in weight.
This is an incomplete copper-alloy mount of Medieval date. It finds parallels in examples of mounts published from London (e.g. Egan and Pritchard, 1991: nos. 1054, 1060) although with slightly differing decorative elements. This suggests a probable date range in the 14th-15th centuries AD for the current example.
