Lead weight. Ovoid weight with a bulbous end and a longitudinal aperture of diameter c.2.5mm, now part filled with soil. Patinated overall and abraded. Probably for use with a fishing line, though the form recalls that of larger medieval net sinkers. The proximity of the River Trent may be relevant to this discovery.
