A copper alloy Medieval buckle dating from about AD 1300 - 1500. It is a single looped rectangular buckle, wider (across the strap) than it is long. The frame has a slightly expanded outer edge and a simple groove as a pin notch. The frame is bevelled on both faces. The pin is copper alloy and is of rectangular cross-section, stepping down in height from the loop to the pin. Both pin and frame have a dark brown patina. The buckle is similar to number 126 on page 26 of Whitehead. The buckle is 27.3mm wide, 20.4mm long, 7.9mm thick across the pin loop and 5.31g.
