An incomplete copper alloy cruciform brooch of Early-Medieval date (AD 450-600). The retained portion of the brooch is a spatulate zoomorphic stylized horse's head terminal. The terminal comprises small raised knops to represent the eyes of the beast from which the snout expands into flaring nostrils which as inverted comma shaped with circular bases. Extending out from between and either side of the nostrils is the projecting spatulate terminal with broken and worn edges. The reverse in undecorated and retains at its upper end a small linear projection which would have formed the catchplate.

The metal is a mid-brown in colour with a pitted green patina.
