A silver Roman coin; an incomplete denarius of Vespasian (AD 69 - 79) dating from AD 72 (Reece Period 4). VICTORIA AVGVSTI reverse type depicting Victory advancing right placing wreath on standard and holding palm. Mint of Rome. Compare Sear Volume I number 2317 on page 439 which cites RIC 52. The coin is 18.8mm diameter, 2mm thick and 2.03g.
