A lead alloy musket ball of post-Medieval date, circa 1644. A shallow oval depression where the casting sprue was removed can still be seen. The ball has a light yellowish-grey patina. It is 16.2mm in diameter and weighs 24.15gm. The weight suggests it would have been used in an arquebus or caliver. (Harding (2012) Lead Shot of the English Civil War: a Radical Study.)
