Cast lead or lead alloy weight of probable Medieval date (1200-1700 AD). The weight is broadly circular in plan and domed (D shaped) in cross section. The upper face is domed and has a small single irregular pierced hole (9.1mm diameter) through the centre. The weight is a mid grey colour with an even, but slightly corroded and abraded, patina which covers all surfaces. The weight has been marked by movement in the ploughsoil. This weight is most likely to date from the later medieval period, although a direct parallel has not been found.
The weight measures 27.5mm diameter, is 7.5mm thick and weighs 41.5 grams.
