Medieval copper alloy knife fitting, 20mm long, 10mm wide and 9mm thick with a weight of 5.51grams. The object has a rectangular form and cross section and is undecorated. One edge has an oval centrally placed hole, which co-incides with a larger hole on the opposite edge, which sits within a recess that runs the width of the object. The object would have sat between a knife blade and a handle.
