Badly crumpled medieval to post-medieval gilt copper alloy mount in the form of six-pointed, wavy-armed star with the stumps of a pair of integral rivets or spikes on the hollow reverse. One speck of gilding remains. Cf. a smaller mount from a belt (NMS-9A0BE5) and a larger one that probably decorated a wall or ceiling (NMS-D2F875). Width c.35mm. 15th - 16th century.
