A copper alloy Sterling bust jetton issued under Edward II dating to the period AD 1310 - 1314. Short cross Moline with pellet in angles within border of pellets. Mint of London. Class 11.
The basic design of the jetton is based on the sterling pennies introduced by Edward I in 1279 though bear decorative borders rather than the legends typically seen on coins of the period.
Obverse Description: Crowned bust facing within circle; border of pellets
Reverse Description: Short cross moline, pellet in angles; border of pellets
A similar jetton can be seen in Mitchiner, p.101, no.125.
