Lead spindle whorl. Cast plano-convex whorl with a central moulded aperture of diameter 9mm, Walton Rogers form A1. The ring on the flat upper surface around the aperture suggests this was cast in an open mould. Patinated overall. The mass tends to suggest a primary use plying cord. Suggested date: Early Medieval, 850-1000.
