An incomplete copper alloy pin of middle Early-Medieval date. All that remains is the circular head of the pin with a very short section of rectangular shaft projecting from one edge. The upper surface of the pin head is decorated with five ring and dot designs, one centrally and one at each quarter. Three concentric irregularly spaced incised rings are also present towards the edge of the head. The reverse is flat and undecorated. A single perforation is present between two of the ring and dot designs to the left of the shaft close to the rim.
The metal has a dark brown patina and is worn. The pin is 24.8mm long, 20.7mm wide, 1.2mm thick and weighs 1.9g.
Similar, though more elaborately decorated, examples have been recorded on the PAS database as SUR-BD3980, SWYOR-72E1D5 and NLM-028751.
