An early Post-Medieval (c. AD 1500-1600) silver gilt dress hook of Read's Class D, Type 1 (rectangular) (Read 2008, 59).
The body and hook survive, but the attachment loop is missing. The body is rectangular with seven projecting knops on the corners, sides and attachment end, and a fleur-like moulding at the junction with the hook. At the centre of the body, three worn annulets surmounted by a recessed heart.

The item is 19mm long, 9mm wide and weighs 1.46 grams.
