A late medieval copper-alloy buckle, probably from a sword belt. The buckle is rectangular and has an integral central bar. At one end of the bar is a small projecting rectangular loop, in the same plane as the rest of the buckle.
Double-loop rectangular buckles of this type are considered to be associated with sword belts. Two are known from a late 14th-century context in London (Egan and Pritchard 1991, nos. 446 and 457).
