A worn fragment of a copper alloy stirrup mount, dating to the later early-medieval (Anglo-Scandinavian) period. The fragment is from the very top part of the mount, and has moulded linear ribs as decoration. The reverse is hollow, and in profile the mount appears U-shaped. This stirrup mount can be catagorised as Williams' Type 4c. They date to the 11th century AD.
