A copper-alloy, probable Harness Fitting of late Bronze Age, Ewart Park, to early Iron Age, transitional Llyn Fawr, period 1000-500 BC (more probably 750-500 BC). Probably dating to the Early Iron Age, contemporary with Hallstatt C (800 BC to 400 BC).
Similar ones have been recorded from the Late Bronze Age hoard of harness fittings found at Parc-y-Meirch, Denbighshire (Savory 1976, p52, fig 9) and according to Savory date to the Transitional period between the Late Bronze Age to Early Iron Age. In light of more modern records, this should be reassigned to the Early Iron Age, probably not dating to before the Llynfawr/Hallstatt C period (700 BC - 400 BC).
